Pt 3, the cloud

You want the cure for the cloud effect?

Why? What reason should you avoid the cloud? Even Doctors will tell you, your body goes through all kinds of wonderful chemical changes that contributes to good health. Being lost in the cloud also may lends itself to a few social inhibitions that are not normally expressed. Singing in public? Public displays of affection? Random happy moments of that special someone. To experience being warmly and sweetly consumed by a person who thinks the world about you. Who doesn’t want that? The cloud provides the view for two hearts to see each other perfectly.

So what say you, you want to run to the cloud? My warning is simply to do your observing and research as best you can, before you enter the cloud.

Happy Clouding!

Enter at your own risk: The Cloud pt 2

There are numerous high-profile examples that are too many to named, but I will try; mike Tyson & Robin Givens, Rosanne bar & Tom Arnold, and Sampson & Delilah and so on. We have all seen them too often. When these relationships began on the basic “let’s do this”, without much other than the here and now, what comes next is what I call the cloud effect or what we often refer to as being on “cloud 9”.

Being in the cloud feels good! We all have been there a time or two in our lives. Everyday is a good day, no wrong doing can be done…by anybody, and the world is a pretty cool place to be in.  Even the sky is blue-er and the birds sing sweeter. Often, these feelings of Euphoria hang around for some time. Depending on the person or persons, anywhere from a few months to more than a year. How is that for a love-jones induced high? The problem here is not the feel good, drug-like intoxication of being in Love, but the loss of most of the important senses that comes with being emotionally inebriated. Too often these symptoms includes being deaf, blind and dumb!  But…in love…ahhhhh.

Some of your more crass friends may say something like ooooh booo, they got you bad…call me when its over(you actually want to keep these friends, cause they are more likely to tell you the true whether you like it or not).

During this time, most red flags look green. And the voice of reason who is working hard to reason with us…sounds strikingly similar to that teacher who taught Charlie Brown and the Peanuts Gang in school…wha wha, wha wha wha.

So we float. From cloud to cloud. Missing those all important cues and clues. Why is there never enough money for them to pay their bills, why is something always wrong with their car, what i’m hearing does not sound like the truth…often, we go out all the time…never. The times we do what I want to do happens…not often. They finishes my sentences and talk when I want to say something is cute…not really. Etc, etc, etc…cues and clues that are lost in the cloud with our common sense. The sense of, had it been anyone else but you, would have said;  so and so must be out of their blessed assured mind if they gone let harpo/ms. sophia treat them that way!

Like a drug, this intoxication usually has to run its course before the victim becomes sober again. Then what? You wait.

To the benevolent friends, who patiently awaits for your return to reality, it is a painfully slow awaiting, for YOUR re-awakening.

So, what can or should one do to avoid the cloud? Do you really want to hear this?

– Part three coming up

On the road again….

Hey folks,

I told you I would keep you updated. This is one of several trips I have already taken to GA. I have two more and then I am done. An official Georgian.  Here is one pic in Georgia.

As you can see in the pic, I am a westsider at heart. In the other pic, I am enjoying a veggie plate from one of the popular soul food restaurants in Decatur, I don’t remember the name.

Oops…the westsider pic didn’t make it. I will upload it later.

Georgia Peach...how sweet it is...

More to come

A Dream within a Dream?

What happened here!?

Downtown Home

Did you see the movie Inception? I am usually somewhat of a hard movie critic. For me, a movie has to have a few basic things to get a decent pass.  A decent plot, decent writing, decent acting, and simply has to make sense in the telling of the story.

Inception had all of that, but this dream within a dream continual loop thing….I.E., a dream within a dream, to the 4 power was a bit too much for me. Trying to follow the different story lines within each dream… with the same people, doing different stuff, I felt I needed to take notes for the quiz at the end of the movie.

None the less, I recently experienced an exception, on last week. Or at least a dream within a dream. In October I will have lived in my current residence for 1 year.  One evening I was up late writing, and began to nod off. Well on this particular nod, I woke up in my previous residence of downtown Detroit(dreaming of course).

Really? Strange thing was that,  that place being a very familiar experience, I awoke within that dream with no feelings of alarm. Possibly thinking that my current realities was “the” dream within a dream.

Confusing? Well, If they have a second installment of Inception I will NOT be going. Too much work to figure out stuff.

Fortunately, this dream was very brief. Not sure how I would have felt, if I realized that the past year of my life was a dream. I know some parts of it I would definitively would not want to change.

That is all.

Live your best life now 2

Hey folks!

Long time no see! Literally! I will take responsiblity for that, of course. I ran across a post that I thought was great for some mental arrested development.

It was just a simple question; Are you living your life or are you simply existing.

Of course that is an open ended question that means whatever it means to the reader, with the emphasis on the readers defined definition of life and what it means to them to live it(hopefully meaningfully).

Then I recalled…I indirectly asked the same question. Hmmmmm.

I asked the question of myself and I would have to say with a resounding yes, I am living a quality, meaningful, purpose driven life.

Far from perfect from any stretch of the imagination of anyone. But, life is being lived by me!

I have a better appreciation in the wisdom of the famous Trekkie phrase “live long and prosper”.

Readers, you say what?

– part 1

Life,

an endless set of opportunities and possibilities, ranging from very good to the very bad. Seized upon by some  and  run a miss by others. All during the same time we interact with one another as we pass through life.

Mostly, we see the quantity and the quality of said life by the choices we make.

What opportunity do we choose to yield what possibility? The road to the expected end, if we arrive to what was expected, does that mean we had planned for it? Not necessarily.

That only means our choices and behavior has not changed, and with  little creativity or not, we can or should see the end by what we have consistently been doing. A destination will happen whether we plan for one or not. The quality of that destination is what is determined by us.

We live in very awesome times today.

What is life?

What should it be if we live out the projected 78.3 years of American life expectancy.

As far as much as it depends on you for yours and myself for mines,  it could be or should be marvelous.

I believe if we think and develop our best thoughts, work towards our best dreams, choose from our best  choices and work hard the best way that we can, we ultimately can Live our best life.

Today we are a sum total of the circumstance which we have come into this world and the benefactor of the choices we have made. The latter being the most important indicator of who and where we are today.

The world has become a faster, smaller and more complicated place to live. Seeing that we cannot choose to leave this word alive, it is imperative that we work  hard to create and develop the best life we can for our families and for ourselves. In this life we get to choose to live, learn, and be happy…or we choose not to.

Life is full of choices, we can choose the best  for us. Yes hard work is included in this deal, but anything worth having requires great effort.

Commit and do the best that is possible for you. Committing to a “best practice” life style can only mean the best is always yet to come.
